The Story
-England and Africa, Victorian Era-
This story centers around Sara Crewe, a young English girl who has been raised happy and free amid the wild beauty of Africa by her wealthy and loving father (a captain in the British army). Sara is sent off to a prestigious boarding school in England while her father goes on a secret mission. When Sara receives news that her father has died, the school's ruthless headmistress makes the newly penniless girl a servant and forces her to live a miserable life in a cold and drafty attic. Refusing to believe her father has died, Sara bravely counters all Miss Minchin's best efforts to degrade her with the grace and virtue of a little princess.

What They're Saying...
“Chrysalis is special to me, because although the main goal of this program is to act in an amazing performance, there is also an element of building friendships that will last forever. With each and every performance I have been in, the entire cast and staff has become an extension of my family. Every week we have rehearsals, they are the highlight of that week. I always look forward to attending rehearsals, and I wouldn't trade anything for the friendships I've made and the experiences I've had. Thanks to all who've made Chrysalis so amazing!”
